"Jardin Planétaire"

Jardin plantéaire is a series inspired by the time it takes for trees to grow shade and the moments we pause to breathe beneath their shades, the time it takes to grow life, these pieces embody both time and transformation.

Made with the sun, the wind and leaves, they are visually organic. Created on natural fabrics with elementary gestures, they are physically in perpetual movement.

Why collecting artworks

Why Collecting The Sun, The Wind and Leaves

Studies are made in the process of making a wider composition. Either while collecting fabrics and plants, or in the process of cleaning tools and working surfaces. Using all recollected fabrics, even the cut bits and pieces, and any remaining drop of cyanotype, it is oriented by a a zero waste ethic.

Also, it is a way to practice my eyes and gesture memory, before racing with the sun while composing wide-scale or multiple layer artworks. Indeed, the sun takes only 6 minutes to tan a wide piece of white fabric to full blue.

Most of all , studies are both archives of present artworks and seeds of future artworks. All of them are part of an infinite movement, as I will reuse them to create bigger artworks, unless you stop them in time to bring them alive in your house. An infinite cycle, just like they are made by following the cycles of the Sun, the Wind and Leaves.

My studies are both archives and seeds. They are showing what’s behind the scene of my process. At the end of a cycle, all studies are available as the seeds for the next year’s artworks.
Just like composting leaves makes the next spring. I upcyle and regenerate the resources of my environment, the one that I use for my artworks, and my own artworks.
I will either stitch them together or pair them with other collected materials or reprint over them. Unless they become the property of a public collection or of a private collector, they are part of an infinite movement, like the sun, the wind and the leaves.
